Photo Friday – Clouds
I will be out of town when this comes out…..so I won’t be able to look up everyone’s photos until Sunday. But I did make sure to pre-post my photo since it was my selection this week……
Photo Friday!!
This Week’s Subject is: Clouds
So, this week, it was my pick for the topic. I love clouds….don’t know alot about them, but they are so interesting. Some day, I ‘m going to put together a coffee table book full of photos of clouds. I love to lay on the grass, looking up into the sky and picking out shapes…….and the different shapes are endless.
So, without further ado, here is my photo(s) for the week…had a couple that went together…had lots of others, too, so maybe we can have Clouds 2 sometime……
Here they are looking up into the sky!
Altocumulus clouds are grayish-white with one part of the cloud darker than the other. Altocumulus clouds usually form in groups. If you see Altocumulus clouds on a warm, sticky morning, be prepared for thunderstorms by late afternoon.
You wouldn’t believe the hail balls these produce! I had another photo I forgot to scan of my daughter holding a hail ball the size of a golf ball or larger! It was quite amazing! I have only seen this once in the last 5 years since I’ve live here in Colorado! Amazing!
Future Topics:
25th July: Author’s choice - Forbidden Photos (Have you ever visited a place where their was a sign saying: NO PHOTOS ALLOWED! - but you ignored it and took them anyway …..)
1st August: Author’s choice - Theme day: Numbers or Names (a selection of photos of numbers – house numbers or numbers of any sort OR house name plates.)
8th August: Author’s choice - Reflections (in lakes, rivers, puddles, ponds or even windows etc.)

Love
When there’s been so much love and happiness with someone, it is natural to be reluctant to close such a wonderful chapter in our lives, for moving forward is rarely accomplished without considerable grief and sadness, and while our sorrow may be profound, the clouds will clear and the sun will shine on us again, and in that warm, bright light, we will find ourselves facing a glorious future, a future of exciting challenges, and infinite possibility, in which the horizon will stretch out before us, written in the heavenly glow of the sunrise of our tomorrow.
Wish I could say I wrote the words above, they came from a silly romantic movie, The Prince & Me…..watched it the other night, and this was the final quote from the movie…..it moved me….and had to rewind 5 or 6 times so I could copy it down…..does anyone know if this is a quote from somewhere besides the movie?

Photo Friday – Ponds, Rivers, Lakes or Seas
Photo Friday!!
Good Friday Morning to Everyone!
This week’s entry is from a collection I took in the Fall of 2005 in Buena Vista, Colorado. I love rivers!
This is the Arkansas River. This particular part of the river is very serene and inviting. Other parts are much more adventurous. That same year, earlier in June or July, my daughter and I went white water rafting with friends down this river! I have attached a photo of this, too! We had a blast. Of course, because we had children in our raft, they gave us the raft which allowed very little participation. The guy in the back was doing most of the work….we got to “row” occasionally and oh yeah, we did get the job of scooping out the water that was leaking into the boat with a bucket! All in all it was fun, but if you want to really participate in the rafting experience, make sure you ask to be in a participation raft (or whatever they would call it!)

Photo Friday – Traditions
Photo Friday!!
This week, we look at the Photo world through “traditions”……when I was first married, and first having children, I dreamed of all the “traditions” we would start…..but as I have gotten older, and been through a divorce, trying to just survive, traditions have been lost, at least temporarily….One of my favorite traditions I have done is take a photo of each of my children on the first day of school…..along with that, I would take them out for a donut before their first day, and on the last day of school, go out for ice cream…..then my daughter turned 13 and donuts weren’t cool anymore, so we started doing “starbucks”……I think this last year, she was too busy after school on the last day, and wanted to hang with her friends…oh, such is life…..I tried not to take it too hard……I don’t think I even have first day of school photos of any of my kids this last year….what happened??? life!!!! I suppose a tradition can have interruptions…I’ll try to get back on it next year…..anyways, here are my three kids on their first day of Kindergarden, Corinna (4 years old) and Schuyler and Jordan (5 1/2)….seems so long ago.
Check out these others:
